Description of the workplace
Alexander Pietras’ Brain Tumor Biology group is part of the Division of Translational Cancer Research, of the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Faculty of Medicine. Members of the lab use in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models to characterize phenotypic plasticity, mechanisms of therapeutic resistance, and heterotypic cell-cell and matrix-cell interactions in brain tumors. Supported by a recently awarded ERC consolidator grant, we are now looking for a motivated bioinformatician to join a project detailing radiotherapy-induced changes to the glioblastoma microenvironment.

Work duties and areas of responsibility
The candidates must be highly motivated to pursue bioinformatic studies independently within an international and interactive research group, as well as support other ongoing projects within the group.
The successful candidate will develop and lead independent research projects as well as contribute to other ongoing activities in the lab. Tasks include data analysis, method development, project planning, and scientific writing. The candidate is expected to contribute to shared duties at the Division of Translational Cancer Research and can be expected to perform some administrative tasks, as well as contribute to supervision of undergraduate students.
