Description of the workplace
The International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University was founded in 1994 and has since developed genuine interdisciplinary education and research with focus on strategies for sustainable development. The Institute facilitates a great number of external research and development projects as well as two international master programs. Subject description
IIIEE is now hiring a researcher part time (50%) with focus on research within the research project Transform (an international research collaboration with University of Waterloo amongst other) and educational efforts within Commissioned Education, as part of the capacity development program Innovation in Governance for Urban Nature-based Solutions (a collaboration between IIIEE, LUSEM and LUCE within Lund University).

Work duties
For this position, the research project Transform includes the following activities:

  • Conduct resarch of high quality within the field sustainable entreprenuership within private/public organisations with a focus on knowledge, learning and capacity for developing more sustainable and resilient local communities.
  • Plan and implement different research activities within the project.
  • Publish and communicate the research and its results in various formats, such as podcasts, educational movies and briefs.

For this position, the Commisioned Education capacity development program Innovation in Governance for Urban Nature-based Solutions includes the following:

  • Plan and implement different educational activities within the frame of the program which runs over one year, online and onsite, and which focuses on innovative management and leadership through the use of urban nature-based solutions with the aim to strengthen the participants’ knowledge and capacity related to sustainable urban development in their cities/countries.

Qualification Requirements
This position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of the position.

Additional requirements:

  • Documented experience of working interdisciplinary and together with other researchers.
  • Documented experience of working transdisciplinary in collaboration with other societal actors.
  • Demonstrated experience of planning, carrying out and summarizing research within the field of sustainable urban development and transformation.
  • Experience of teaching. Earlier experience of teaching within commissioned education is further meritious.
  • Experience of practical work in urban planning/urban development.

Very good oral and written proficiency in English. Very good oral and written proficiency in Swedish.

  • The ability to work independently and in collaborative settings.
  • Demonstrated ability of oral and written communication through different dissemination channels and mediums, such as podcasts and educational films.

Terms of employment
This is a part- time, fixed- term employment during 12 months.
Extent: 50%
Start date: 22 September 2022 or according to agreement
