Description of the workplace
At the Pediatric Endocrinology research group, research is conducted in autoimmune diseases in children, mainly type 1 diabetes and autoimmune thyroiditis. The research has been at the forefront of the field for several years and the studies are carried out in our ongoing international longitudinal observation and intervention studies as well as drug trials. The group is led by adjunct professor Helena Elding Larsson and consists of research and technical staff. The business is located at the Clinical Research Center in Malmö.

Work duties
As an assistant researcher within the research group, you are responsible for your own experiments and studies, but can also supervise employees and students in the laboratory. Your duties mainly include laboratory method work. Other existing supervisor tasks within the research group may also become relevant.

Qualification requirements 

  • PhD in medical science.
  • Documented experience with CBC and flow cytometry.
  • Documented experience of High resolution HLA sequencing and SNP genotyping.
  • Documented knowledge of/experience with radiobinding assays.
  • We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. This means being able to act independently, have good teamwork skills and be soulution-oriented.  

Merits:

  • Documented experience in method development.
  • Scientific articles written in English with a broad methodological index.
  • Previous experience in developing ethical research approvals, as well as fundring applications.
  • Supervision of students in a laboratory environment. 

Term of employment 
This is a temporary 2 years employment. Expected start date, as soon as possible or according to agreement.
