About the workplance

As an assistant researcher, you work in close collaboration with other researchers in the Experimental Neuroinflammation Laboratory, a research group belonging to the institution of Experimental Medical Sciences at Lund University. Our research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease, with a special focus on microglial contribution. In our team, we meet on a weekly basis to discuss work-related issues and opportunities. We also have journal clubs together with other experimental research groups within the field, both at the faculty and international contexts. In addition, we have monthly project meetings and lunch seminars to interact inside and outside our research team.

Work assignments and responsibilities 

As an assistant researcher, you are responsible for the specific project ”Microglial ApoE in Alzheimer’s disease”. This implies a variety of methods, including cell culture work, immunohistochemistry, qPCR, ELISA, and Western Blotting. Teaching and supervising students are also expected tasks.

Qualifications

Must have

  • Able to independently conduct cell culture work
  • Experienced with teaching and student supervision
  • Biostatistical knowledge
  • Well experienced in methods like Western Blot, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, qPCR.
  •  Experience with single-cell analysis experiments
  • Able to independently conduct animal behavioural experiments

Good to have

  • Basic knowledge in bioinformatics
  • Knowlefge in how to use available infrastructures/technbical plattforms required for the research project, such as the Operetta.

This is a temporary, 6 months, 50 % assisstant researcher possition starting 1 November 2022.
