Work duties
A postdoctoral position is a fixed-term career development position primarily focused on research. The position is intended as an initial step in a career and shall give the applicant an opportunity to develop their independence as a researcher as well as create conditions to gain further credentials as a researcher.

The main duty of a postdoctoral position is to conduct research.

This postdoctoral position involves research within the field of theatre and performance, and in particular Malmö Theatre Academy seeks a fellow whose research addresses the interplay between contemporary performing arts and their socio-political contexts and implications. The postdoc research position aims to develop critical methodologies and reflections related to one or more of the following research areas: displacement, migration, race, gender, post-colonial and decolonial histories and practices, participation, community development, human rights and activism. Malmö Theatre Academy is seeking a performing artist who will link artistic research and practice with social engagement outside of the academy.

The position includes the opportunity for three weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning. Teaching may also be included in the position, but will comprise no more than 20 percent of working hours.
