Description of the workplace
The Clinical and Molecular Osteoporosis Research group, led by Professor Kristina Åkesson, conducts research with a focus on the identification of risk factors contributing to osteoporosis and fragility fractures. The research studies range from clinical- and patient-related to experimental. More information about the research can be found here. The position is located at the Clinical Research Centre (CRC), Malmö, and at the department of orthopedics, Malmö.
Within the research group, we value a good working environment with respect and consideration in our relationships and strive for a workplace that is conducive and stimulating for all co-workers. We work constantly to create conditions for job satisfaction, development and inclusion for all employees. We value both the physical and psychosocial work environment.
Work duties
The postdoctoral researcher will explore the relationship between risk factors (biomarkers, genetic markers, and lifestyle factors such as diet and physical activity) and osteoporosis in large population-based cohorts. The project will primarily involve working with large datasets to investigate clinical and genetic risk factors for musculoskeletal phenotypes (fat, muscle, bone, fracture).
The work will include planning and conducting advanced statistical epidemiological analyses, data interpretation and authoring scientific manuscripts. Other tasks within the research group may also be required.
