The International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) is an international and interdisciplinary centre of excellence at Lund University. The IIIEE advances knowledge on how to catalyse the transition to low-carbon and resource efficient economies across different levels of governance and management. The IIIEE conducts research across the themes of international and national policy intervention, urban governance and experimentation, business management and practice, and consumption governance.

The IIIEE offers both education to master’s students, exchange students and also provides shorter courses online that are open to all (MOOCs). The IIIEE also works to openly disseminate new knowledge by e.g. publishing Podcasts.

IIIEE is now looking for a research assistant to support the training regarding both IIIEE's online courses, teaching in master’s courses as well as the production of Podcasts. The work is mainly conducted in English.

Work duties

The IIIEE is now looking for of a research assistant for 100% employment for one year. The work duties include:

  • MOOCs. This work involves maintaining, revising and improving existing courses, further developing courses and designing new courses. This work includes providing support for learners in the course activities, Q&As, submissions and with problem solving. The tasks also relate to updating and further developing and producing MOOCs, including the design and production of video lectures, interviews, course readings, assignment and quizzes. This work involves a high degree of learner interaction as well as planning and organizing events and seminars.
  • Onsite teaching. This work involves supporting in teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses at the IIIEE. Support is mainly needed in courses concerning green governance, urban governance, environmental product policy and policy evaluation. The tasks include assisting teachers in teaching and organizing and developing courses and course materials.
  • Podcasts. This work focuses on developing new Podcast episodes with the purpose to support the dissemination of e.g. research findings, cutting edge topics and new knowledge.

Requirements

  • Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant, preferably multi-disciplinary, field (e.g. climate and sustainable studies)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with strategic and operative work with social media, campaign and events
  • Demonstrated experience of course development for online learning platforms for international audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to curating course readings and other written materials
  • Demonstrated software skills and technical competence related to video and podcast production
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with colleagues and in teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary and international environment
  • Strong proficiency in both spoken and written English

Additional qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and professional experience with a multitude of topics related to Sustainable Development and Climate Change
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Educational background related to urban sustainability or environmental policy

Consideration will be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and suitability in general that is needed to perform the duties well. Consideration will also be given to how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing education and communication within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Terms

Temporary employment for a maximum of 12 months with a starting date upon agreement.
