Lund University announces a position as substitute lecturer (adjunct) in Economic History. The position is for twelve months, starting 1st of January 2023 at the department of Economic History, Lund University School of Economics and Management. The employment is 55 percent of full time.
Subject area and duties
The subject area is Economic History.
The position consists of mostly teaching and to a lesser extent research. Administrative tasks can also be included. Teaching can be at the undergraduate and graduate level and will have an emphasis on African Economic History, Economic history of the Global South and Development Studies. The teaching will be held in English.
Eligibility
To be employed the applicant must have both pedagogical skills, a degree at the advanced level or the equivalent and have other skills that are important with regard to the subject of economic history and other tasks included in the employment.
It is also a requirement to have completed at least five weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning or acquired equivalent knowledge by other means.
Assessment criteria
Since the position mostly consists of teaching extra importance is given to pedagogical skills when assessing the applicants. Administrative and academic competence are also taken into account.
In the overall assessment of scholarly skills special weight will be given to applicants with a doctorate in economic history, Special weight will also be given to experience from international collaboration and participation in research networks. Moreover, the ability to collaborate with the surrounding society andto inform about research will be assessed.
Pedagogical qualifications include training in teaching and learning in higher education, pedagogical experience and pedagogical skills. Experience of teaching and course development in Economic History, African Economic History, Economic History of the Global South and Development Studies is a merit.
Very good oral and written proficiency in English is a requirement.
Consideration will be given to how the applicant's skills and experience can strengthen and supplement the existing research and teaching activities within the Department.
