Description of the workplace
Neurolinguistics at the Centre for Languages and Literature, Lund University, is a highly productive research environment where researchers, doctoral students, and assistants regularly meet for constructive discussion about their research. The team also has a central role in the national network Neurolinguistics in Sweden and the Lund University group for cognitive neuroscience. It has close collaborations with Lund University Bioimaging Centre (LBIC). The Centre for Languages and Literature offers a dynamic environment where researchers from different language-related subjects interact.
The main task of the researcher will be to use magnetic resonance imaging to investigate how the brain combines prosodic and segmental phonemes. The position is placed at the Centre for Languages and Literature, the Joint Faculty of Humanities and Theology, at Lund University, but the work also implies collaboration with LBIC, which hosts the magnetic resonance imaging scanners.
The neurolinguistics group is placed in Linguistics at SOL. The group has one professor, four doctoral students, and several associated master’s students. At Linguistics, there is competence in neurolinguistics, phonetics, grammar, semantics, and typology. A person with competence in magnetic resonance imaging and phonology would constitute a central competence covering knowledge that is presently more distributed over coworkers.
