Description of the workplace
Lund Stem Cell Center (SCC) at Lund University is a world-leading center for stem cell research with the mission of transferring basic science findings to the clinic in order to make a fundamental difference to improve human health. Established in 2008, SCC now consists of over 40 outstanding research groups, all performing fundamental, multidisciplinary research. Research at SCC is diverse and covers several aspects of developmental and stem cell biology, including but not limited to restorative neurology, hematopoiesis, endocrine cell differentiation, lung bioengineering and bone formation processes. SCC is committed to excellence in stem cell research, rigorous and thoughtful training for the next generation of scientists, and the long-term goal of making stem cell therapies a reality. SCC is a highly international (over 40 nationalities) work environment and has a great sense of community. The center itself is an umbrella organisation, with members employed at several different departments and divisions at the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University, several of whom have links to Skåne University Hospital.

The Cell and Gene Therapy Core is an entity within the SCC and its purpose is to offer and develop high-quality services that can facilitate research and further the excellence of the center and its research groups. We offer iPSC services such as reprogramming and CRISPR-edits, CRISPR experimental designs, vector design as well as lentiviral and AAV production.
