Project assistent position at the Department of Political Science - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Your duties:
The work will be carried out within the framework of an ongoing research project “Repressive or Abusive? Unpacking Patterns of Police Malfeasance in Transitional Regimes” (funded by Crafoord Foundation) at the Department of Political Science . The project examines various forms of police mistreatment in developing democracies, with a special focus on police repression and police corruption. 

The work includes collecting, processing and analyzing data on police repression and corruption across several developing democracies, and exploring their relationship with other relevant variables. The duties require very good knowledge of statistical analysis methods, as well as the use of statistical packages such as R or STATA. Understanding of field experiments or spatial data analysis would be considered a strong asset, but is not a requirement. 

The work includes bi-monthly meetings with the project team via Zoom. The work requires a high degree of independence, ability to take initiative, and good planning and organizational skills. 

Qualifications:
- Education: a master's degree in social sciences, preferably in political science or economics. Last year MA students can be considered depending on their overall fit with the position requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of English, in speech and writing.
- Demonstrated knowledge in statistical data analysis. 
- Demonstrated experience of working in R, STATA or similar programs. 
- Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication.

Employment conditions:
The temporary position 6-month employment, starting in February or March, 2023, full time, but 75% or 50% employment options might also be considered.
