Description of workplace
Lund Stem Cell Center (SCC) at Lund University is a world-leading center for stem cell research with the mission of transferring basic science findings to the clinic in order to make a fundamental difference to improve human health. Established in 2008, SCC now consists of 36 outstanding research groups, all performing fundamental, multidisciplinary research. Research at SCC is diverse and covers several aspects of developmental and stem cell biology, including but not limited to restorative neurology, hematopoiesis, endocrine cell differentiation, lung bioengineering and bone formation processes. SCC is committed to excellence in stem cell research, rigorous and thoughtful training for the next generation of scientists, and the long-term goal of making stem cell therapies a reality.
SCC is a highly international (over 40 nationalities) work environment and has a great sense of community. The center itself is an umbrella organisation, with members employed at several different departments and divisions at the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University, several of whom have links to Skåne University Hospital.

Duties and areas of responsibility
Lund Stem Cell Center (SCC) is looking for a Grant Manager with appropriate professional experience to assist in grant application processes: from the identification of suitable funding calls (national and international) and project application, to project management and reporting, i.e. both pre-award and post-award. As the center’s Grant Manager, you will regularly interact with SCC Principal Investigators, administrative staff, communication officers, innovation managers, funding organisations, economists and bibliometricians. Overall, you will have a central role in contributing towards the common goals of SCC, such as strengthening collaborations and increasing the retention of young Principal Investigators and technical staff. The role is high profile and demands initiative, creativity and a broad interest in research and ambition.

Requirements for the position are:
Must have a PhD degree within Biomedical Sciences or related disciplines and also postdoctoral experience in the stem cell field.
The applicant is expected to have excellent communication and organisation skills, enthusiasm to interact with our researchers and have a cross-disciplinary background.
Documented experience in scientific writing.
Excellent writing skills in Swedish and English.
Proven knowledge of funding schemes (national and international funding bodies including e.g. VR, ERC, KAW and Vinnova).
Ability to cooperate, prioritise and comply with external deadlines.
Meritorious for the position are:
Documented experience in writing successful network grant applications to e.g. KAW, Vinnova and SRC
Experience of working in a fast-paced, international environment.
Service-oriented.
Self motivated and independent whilst being able to interact effectively with researchers.
Accustomed to taking initiatives, working in a collaborative and well-structured manner.

This is a full-time permanent position with a probationary period during the first six months of the employment. The intended start date of this employment is 2023-03-01 or according to agreement.
