The department of Economic History, Lund is announcing a project based researcher position for a period of one and a half years. 

Subject area

Economic History and Development Economics.

Job description

The research project is financed by the Danish Institute for International Studies and focuses on innovative financial measures related to climate mitigation and adaptation as well as on the role of taxation in development. During the time of the project, the following concrete tasks shall be done: (1) Policy study on green bonds and debt swaps, (2) research on informal sector taxation including fieldwork in selected African counties, and (3) research on comparative tax capacity in a long-term perspective for African countries.

Eligibility

To be qualified for the employment the applicant must hold a PhD in Economic History or related discipline, e.g., Economics. Scholarly proficiency is the main requirement for employment. The holder of the position should be competent and experienced enough to be able to carry out independent research in Economic History and Development Economics.

Assessment criteria

For appointment, the candidate must have demonstrated a high degree of research expertise as manifested in publications. Experience of doing research in the subject area and job description mentioned above will be the main criteria applied in the assessment of candidates.

The evaluation will take the experience, knowledge and other personal qualities into consideration. The applicants’ ability to use their skills and experience to strengthen and supplement the existing research cooperations at the department will also be considered.
