Automatic Control is an exciting and broad subject, covering both advanced mathematics and hands-on engineering. Historically, it has been instrumental in many areas, from the early development of telecommunications to the space race. Today, driven by the need to engineer ever larger systems, Automatic Control is more relevant than ever.
We are now recruiting a PhD student for the VINNOVA project AORTA, where we will explore real-time services in the cloud. The project is a collaboration between the Department of Automatic Control, Ericsson, Mälardalen University and Cognibotics. AORTA stands for Advanced Offloading for Real-Time Applications and the topic is how one can place resource-heavy control and machine learning applications in the cloud. The position is suitable for you if you have a background in and are interested in control, embedded systems, real-time systems, robotics, and/or cloud technology. The project will include hands-on activities on cloud services, 5G networks and robotics applications.
