The Research Group

The Division of Microbiology, Immunology and Glycobiology (MIG) is looking for an assisting
researcher who will be part of the ongoing research projects led by Professor Catharina Svanborg. We conduct research in cancer and infection biology where we follow new discoveries from molecular mechanisms and animal models to clinical trials. We are a dynamic research group with a strong international position and we offer great opportunities to develop a scientific career. Here you can learn more about our exciting research.

Work duties and area of expertise

The associate researcher will develop specific projects and will be expected to write grants and
applications. You will also mentor junior group members and students. The associate researcher will work in a team and collaborate around projects and relevant ideas. Other work duties related to the lab may occur.

Qualifications

The position requires:

  • Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology or related areas
  • A competitive list of publications in leading international journals
  • Experience in bioinformatics, genomics and transcriptomic technologies
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You must have a good ability to work
independently and have good planning, structural and prioritization skills. You must also have excellent communication and collaboration skills as we work closely within the research team.

The following are merits for the position:

  • A biomedical background or previous experience 

Research expertise is the foremost criterion for employment. The evaluation of applicants will take account of their research profile, experience and knowledge.

Further information The employment is a permanent full time position, to start on March 1 or according to agreement. A 6 month probationary period will be applied.
