About the workplace
As a postdoc, you work in close collaboration with other researchers in the Experimental Neuroinflammation Laboratory, a research group belonging to the institution of Experimental Medical Sciences at Lund University. More information about our specific team can be found on our homepage: here
Our research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease, with a special focus on microglial contribution. In our team, we meet on a weekly basis to discuss work-related issues and opportunities. We also have journal clubs together with other experimental research groups within the field, both at the faculty and international contexts. In addition, we have monthly project meetings and lunch seminars to interact inside and outside our research team.

Work assignments and responsibilities
As a postdoctoral fellow in research groups, you will conduct research in projects that aim to better understand neuroinflammatory processes in aging and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, with a particular focus on microglial cells. You are expected to be actively involved in the planning and execution of experimental animal studies, processing and analysis of collected data, writing manuscripts, and compiling applications to grantees. As a postdoctoral fellow, you are also expected to actively participate in internal and external meetings and seminars. Teaching and supervising students and doctoral students will be part of your duties. Other tasks within the research group may also be relevant.

About the employment
The employment is a fixed-term employment of two years, 100% with a start date of 2023-05-01 or as agreed. As a postdoctoral fellow, you are expected to move to Sweden as the work will be carried out on site.
The employment is time-limited to a minimum of two years, a maximum of three years according to the collective agreement on limited-time employment as a postdoctoral fellow (Arbetsgivarverket). An appointment as a postdoctoral fellow is intended as an initial step in the career and as an opportunity to further deepen and broaden research competence.
