Description of the workplace

The research assistant position is within the Formas funded RIVET-project. This research project is focused on normative assumptions in climate economic models, such as integrated assessment models, and how they can be managed through deliberative processes to ensure both epistemic integrity and democratic legitimacy. It is a collaborative project between the Department of Philosophy at Lund University and the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) in Berlin. Currently there are two researchers employed within the project. Henrik Thorén is the PI and is located in Lund, and Lukas Beck is a postdoctoral fellow at the MCC. You will have your office in Lund but will work closely with both institutions. In the research group, we also closely collaborate with Martin Kowarsch (also MCC) and Dominic Lenzi (University of Twente). We strive for a good working environment with close and frequent meetings. There are weekly group meetings, as well as recurring in-person meetings both in Lund and Berlin. We also have a reading group where we discuss current relevant literature.

We offer

Lund University is a Department of the Swedish Government and therefore employment comes with specific benefits, a generous paid vacation, as well as an employment pension.

For this temporary position as research assistant we can offer a certificate of employment that can be useful for future positions. Working hours are to an extent flexible, in particular concerning research related work tasks, which will contribute to a healthy work-life balance.

Moreover, this the project provides excellent opportunities to connect with world-leading researchers and research institutions in the field as well as with public and private sector organizations and companies.
