Description of the workplace

At the Department of Energy Sciences, a number of courses are given that are part of the energy specialization for students within the programs M, MHET, W, E or F. We are now looking for a teaching assistant who can help in the course MVKN95, Environmentally friendly electricity production, which is given in study periods 1 and 2 during fall 2023. The work is in close collaboration with the course responsible teacher.

Work duties

The duties for this position include teaching the course MVKN95, Environmentally friendly electricity production. You will be responsible for preparing and hold-ing exercises and helping with the supervision of compulsory papers. The possition also includes assisting with some course administration.

Qualification requirements

Only those admitted to first or second-cycle courses and study programmes at the faculty may be employed as teaching assistants.

Required qualifications:

  • admitted to (relevant) first or second-cycle courses in X
  • very good oral and written proficiency in English  
  • completed courses within the Energy specialization for one of the civil engineering programs E, F, M and W or the master’s program in sustainable energy engineering.
  • We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Personal qualities that are required are the ability to both cooperate and work independently.

Additional requirements:

  • Knowledge of energy systems and related environmental consequences
  • Completed energy courses, especially the course MVKN95, environmentally friendly electricity production is meritorious.
  • Completed courses with an energy and/or environmental focus such as e.g. MVKN61 theory of turbomachines, MVKP15, Wind power technology, FMIN30 environmental system analysis and FMIF20 environmental issues in an international perspective
  • Previous teaching experience

Further information

The position is a fixed term position for the period of  August 28 augusti 2023 to January 14, 2024  at 15 per cent of full time and starting on August 28 augusti 2023 or by agreement. The employment as a Teaching Assistant is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), 5 chapter 8-12 §§. Teaching assistants are normally covered by the working hours agreement for teaching staff.
