Description of the workplace
At the research group for regenerative neurobiology, research is conducted in cell-based treatments for brain damage. The research has been at the forefront of the field for several years. The group is led by Professor Malin Parmar and includes both research and technical staff. The group is located at the Biomedical Center in Lund. Here you can read more about our exciting research.

Work duties and areas of responsibility
As a Postdoc within the research group, you are responsible for running your own research projects within the group. This includes planning, execution and data analysis, supervision of students, and coordination between different competencies within the project team.
Your duties include mainly:
- Establishment and characterization of the culture system for organoids
- Stem cell transplantation in PD rat model
- Comparison of the 3D organoid systems with already established in vivo models for cell differentiation, maturation and function.
-Establish disease models for PD based on translation and sc seq
-Compilation and report of data
Qualifications
The candidate must have completed doctoral training in biotechnology, bioengineering, stem cell biology or developmental neurobiology; In addition the following is required for the employment:
- documented knowledge of neurodegenerative disorders
- experience with in vitro and in vivo models at postdoctoral level
- experience of work with stereotactic surgery at postdoctoral level
- documented experience with animal model (mouse/rat)
- documented experience with bulk sequencing
- experience in producing and using viral vectors
- good ability to work well in collaborative projects
- cloning and genetic modification of cells
Additional qualifications for the position are:
Experience in identification, assessment, downloading and analysis of data from the literature is advantageous.
About the employment
The employment is a fixed-term employment of two years, 100% with a start date of 2023-09-01 (September 1th) or as agreed. As a postdoctoral fellow, you are expected to move to Sweden as the work will be carried out on site.
The employment is time-limited to a minimum of two years, a maximum of three years according to the collective agreement on limited-time employment as a postdoctoral fellow (according to Collective Agreement). An appointment as a postdoctoral fellow is intended as an initial step in the career and as an opportunity to further deepen and broaden research competence.
