Description of the workplace

You will be working at the department of Electrical and Information technology, and primary in the divisions of Communications engineering and Integrated 
electronic systems. These two divisions are closely working together to develop the next generation wireless systems, from theory to practice. The teaching assistants will be participating in SSF-CHI project “Large Intelligent Surfaces – Architecture and Hardware”. 

Work duties

As teaching assistants your duties can vary, and the tasks should give an insight into the academic world at the faculty where you conduct studies. The tasks 
include participation in research projects. More specifically, the work duties 
include hardware implementation of MIMO processing algorithms and the software implementation of PYNQ framework. The area is effective hardware 
implementations for 6G wireless communication, including massive MIMO and Large Intelligent Surfaces. Targeted platforms include Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and software-defined radios (SDR).

Qualification requirements

Only those admitted to first or second-cycle courses and study programmes at the faculty may be employed as teaching assistants. 

Required qualifications:

  • Admitted to first or second-cycle courses in Electrical and Information Technology or other relevant courses. 
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English. 
  • Good knowledge in hardware (e.g., FPGA, RFSoC) implementation of 
    digital signal processing algorithms.

Additional requirements

  • Experience with development tools for digital platforms (especially Zynq FPGA).
  • Experience with development tools for wireless communication systems implementation and prototyping, with PYNQ (Python for Zynq FPGA).

The position is a fixed term position during the period September 1st, 2023, until April 30th, 2024, at 30 % of full time. The employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), 5 chapter 8-12 §§. 

This teaching assistant is covered by the flexitime agreement
