Description of the workplace

Archaeology in Lund primarily covers the study of material culture, living conditions and social formations in prehistory, the relationship between humans and the natural environment as well as contacts between societies. An essential part of the study is the comparison of different materials from different cultures within and outside the Nordic area. This entails a long-term perspective which is also of great importance for the assessment of many contemporary problems and for contemporary developments. The focus in research and teaching is on theory, method, field archaeology and period studies from the Stone Age up to and including the Viking Age, in a European context.

We offer

Lund University is a public authority which means that employees get particular benefits, generous annual leave and an advantageous occupational pension scheme. We also have a flexitime agreement that provides good conditions for work/life balance.
