Description of the workplace
Professor Jonas Larsson leads the Stem Cell Regulators research group at the Division of Molecular Medicine and Gene Therapy at the Faculty of Medicine. At the division, research is conducted in hematopoiesis, blood stem cells and cell/gene therapy for blood diseases. The research group is led by Professor Jonas Larsson and consists of both research trainees and technical staff. The laboratory is located at the Biomedical Center in Lund. Within the research group, we aim to create a creative and stimulating work environment to promote new ideas and independent thinking.
We are now looking for a driven PhD student who will work on the PhD project " Enhancing blood stem cell transplantation using a nanotechnology-based RNA delivery system" and be involved in the group's other research projects.

Work duties and areas of responsibility
In addition to following the study plan for the doctoral education, as well as participating in relevant courses for the education, the following tasks are also included:

Emphasis will be put on personal qualities. We are looking for someone who is driven, curious and taking responsibility. As the research group has an international environment, good communication skills and collaboration skills are required. In addition, the duties require organizational skills and ability to prioritize duties.
Eligibility
Students with basic eligibility for third-cycle studies are those who- have completed a second-cycle degree- have completed courses of at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits are from second-cycle courses, or- have acquired largely equivalent knowledge in some other way, in Sweden or abroad.
Assessment basis
The employment of doctoral students is regulated in the Swedish Code of Statues 1998: 80. Only those who are or have been admitted to PhD-studies may be appointed to doctoral studentships. When an appointment to a doctoral studentship is made, the ability of the student to benefit from PhD-studies shall primarily be taken into account. In addition to devoting themselves to their studies, those appointed to doctoral studentships may be required to work with educational tasks, research and administration, in accordance with specific regulations in the ordinance.
Type of employment
Limit of tenure, four years in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance - HF 5 kap 7§ in Sweden.
The employment is a fulltime position with a desired start date of August 1, 2023, or according to agreement.
