At the Department of Molecular Medicine and Gene Therapy at the Faculty of Medicine, research is conducted in hematopoiesis, blood stem cells and cell/gene therapy for blood diseases. The department is led by Professor Jonas Larsson and consists of both research and technical staff. The business is located at the Biomedical Center in Lund.
Within the department, we look after a business whose goal is to create a creative and stimulating work environment to promote new ideas and independent thinking.
The research group for molecular medicine and gene therapy is part of the department. The group conducts research in experimental hematology and regulation of blood stem cells as well as childhood leukemia. The group is based in both Lund and London (UCL).
Job duties
To independently run and coordinate projects in the research group. Build and stimulate collaboration between the group's sections in Lund and London and to independently write articles and apply for project grants Supervision of employees in the research group
Requirements profile
- Doctoral degree in the biomedical field
- Several years of postdoctoral experience in independent research work in both molecular research around childhood leukemia and advanced mathematical modeling
- Documented ability to work independently and to run projects independently as well as to coordinate cooperation within "long-distance projects".
- Several years of experience in independent research work, and scientific publication in highly ranked journals in the field of hematology.
- Very good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in English
- Documented ability to apply for and receive project grants
- Documented competence and experience in: work with both human and murine hematopoietic cells, stem cell transplantation models in mice, advanced flow cytometry and cell sorting, single cell sequencing, use of advanced bioinformatic analysis tools.
