Description of the workplace
The research group needs additions with an assistant researcher to carry out research within the framework of funded and ongoing projects. Cancer arises through a series of different changes in the genetic mass of previously completely normal tissue. Through these genetic changes, the cancer cells can avoid the body's strict control on growth and form a tumor. New studies emphasize the importance of the tumor cells' communication with the surrounding tissue for cancer to develop at all. Different cell types in the tumor's surroundings help the tumor cells by providing a variety of factors that facilitate their emergence, growth and spread. We seek basic knowledge about different cell types that together make up a tumor, as well as how these cell types communicate with each other to stimulate cancer growth and spread. The certainty is that with more knowledge of this kind we will be able to find new ways to treat tumor diseases.
