Description of the workplace
The research group for genomics, diabetes and endocrinology conducts research in the field of precision medicine and metabolic complexity in type 2 diabetes. The research, with a focus on precision medicine and genetics, is at the forefront of diabetes research; the group is led by Associate Professor Ola Hansson. Work duties and areas of responsibility
We are now looking for a Researcher in bioinformatics research and computational biology focusing on better understanding of the genetics and inheritance of type 2 diabetes to discover novel biomarkers in blood and relevant tissues.
As a Researcher, you will be joining a growing multidisciplinary team of linical researchers, who are dedicated to increase the knowledge about metabolic and endocrine diseases. The long-term goal of our research is to contribute to the development of new treatments for type 2 diabetes.
The Researcher will integrate multi -omics data focusing on better understanding of early life programming, parental contributions to T2D risk and modeling of early life trajectories. Other assignments within the research group may also occur.
Qualifications
The following are required for the position:
Ph.D. degree in medicine, bioinformatics or a related discipline Extensive postdoctoral experience in a relevant field Ability to independently perform bioinformatic analysis Very high proficiency in English, in speech and writing Dedicated and passionate about the research area Capable of working both independently and in cooperation with others
