The University has around 47 000 students and more than 8 800 staff based in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö. We are united in our efforts to understand, explain and improve our world and the human condition.

Lund University welcomes applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We regard gender equality and diversity as a strength and an asset.

Background
The Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science (INES) conducts broad research and teaching in the fields of climate and environment. INES has a diversified IT environment with around 300 client computers and a number of servers for various services, e.g. storage and data processing. The work at the department is computer-intensive with analysis, modelling, visualization and handling of many types of environment-related and geospatial data in various program environments, e.g. geographic information systems. The user environment is dominated by Windows, but we also have many Linux systems and Mac computers. Among the staff there are both users with very high and more limited computer skills. The environment is technically diverse with a combination of centrally and locally produced services. We have four computer rooms for students where beginners and more experienced students work with different user programs. The staff is international and the day-to-day language alternates between English and Swedish.

The IT operation is facing changes due to reorganisation and leave of abcense for one of our employees, and we are looking for a flexible employee with a broad background in various IT systems. Since the IT needs may vary, interest and openness to learn new tools and systems during the course of employment are required.

  • be responsible for the department's booking system (cars, bicycles, etc.)
  • maintain current mailing list
  • help students with extending user accounts, restoring passwords, etc.
  • together with the IT manager and the department's IT group participate in strategic IT work regarding security and other long-term issues
  • other tasks that may be added

You will work together with our IT responsible who will also supervise you.
