Project assistant in Biology - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Work duties
The molecular cell biology unit at the Department of Biology at Lund University is seeking a full-time bioinformatic project assistant. Work duties of this position include:

• Maintenance and organisation of the laboratory’s computational resources
• Maintenance and organization of github, discord and other data management services
• Code management
• Maintenance and development of the website

Qualifications 
The following qualifications are necessary for application:

• MSc degree with a 60 hp credit thesis in DNA and RNA sequence analysis, evolutionary analysis and/or metabolic inference
• Candidates must have very good oral and written proficiency in English.
• Knowledge of python, perl and/or R progamming languages
• Documented experience organizing and processing sequencing data from microbial eukaryotes, bacteria and archaea
• Basic understanding of web programming
• Documented experience performing bioinformatic analyses of data from non-model species
• Documented experience using software for administative platforms and communication within a research lab (i.e., GitHub, Discord)

Other merits

• Deep understanding of microbial metabolism especially anaerobic microbes
• Knowledge of SQL

Terms of employment 
Permanent employment starting with 6 months probationary employment. Preferred start date is October 1st 2023. 

The employment is fulltime (100%).
