Project assistant in Environmental Microbiology - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Work duties
We are seeking a project assistant to participate in daily tasks at the Tunlid and Persson Lab, specializing in forest soil microbial ecology. Responsibilities include fungal microbiology tasks like medium preparation, transplantation, and enzyme assays. The role also involves nucleic acid purifications from fungal cultures and environmental samples for DNA and RNA genome sequencing, as well as high-throughput amplicon sequencing. The assistant will work closely with master's and PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers from the group. Qualifications

• Master's (MSc) degree in biology, microbiology, or microbial ecology.
• Work experience in axenic conditions, ideally with microorganisms and/or nucleic acid extraction.
• Knowledge about environmental microbiology and microbial ecology.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will also be given to strong collaborative skills and a keen interest and curiosity in fungal biology.

Terms of employment
Fixed-term full-time employment for 8 months, preferably starting on October 1st, 2023.
