Description of the workplace
The research group, led by Agatheeswaran Subrmaniam, conducts research in targeted protein degradation. The research group is located at the Division of Molecular Medicine and Gene Therapy at the Faculty of Medicine. The division also conducts research in hematopoiesis, blood stem cells and cell/gene therapy for blood diseases. The division is led by Professor Jonas Larsson and is located at the Biomedical Center in Lund.

Work duties and areas of responsibility
You will independently run and coordinate projects in the research group. This will include to independently write articles and apply for project grants. You will also supervise junior coworkers in the research group.

Qualification requirements 
To qualify for the position, the applicant must have a PhD or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within a subject relevant for the position (within the biomedical field), completed no more than three years before the date of employment decision. Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier. 

Qualifications
The requirements for the position are:

  • Doctoral degree in the biomedical field
  • Documented ability to work independently and to run projects independently as well as to coordinate collaboration with other research groups.
  • Very good proficiency in both spoken and written English
  • Documented competence and experience in the following:
    - work with human hematopoietic cells
    - stem cell transplantation models in mice
    - advanced biochemical methods in proteomics
    - advanced flow cytometry and cell sorting
    - methods for high-throughput screening with both CRISPR and RNAi
    - use of bioinformatic analysis tools and basic programming

Research expertise is the foremost criterion for employment. The evaluation of applicants will take account of their research profile, experience and knowledge.

Further information
The employment is time-limited to 3 years full-time. The employment is time-limited according to the agreement, "Agreement on limited-time employment as postdoctoral researcher-2022-02-01".

Start date is December 1st, 2023, or according to agreement.
