About the workplace
The research group for Lung Bioengineering and Regeneration conducts research in lung bioengineering and regeneration and conducts cutting edge research in the field. The group is led by senior lecturer Darcy Wagner and consists of both research and technical staff. The group is located at the Biomedical Center in Lund.

Assignmenst and responibillities
The holder of this position will mainly work on a research project related to the implementation and optimization of microfluidic models to generate transplantable 3D tissues. Our group has generated a number of unique 3D models from various tissues using a combination of ex vivo and in vivo methods and biomaterials.
The main work responsibilities involve designing and conducting research pertaining to the project and includes analyzing and developing ways to visualize the results of these analysis for publication. Further, the holder of this position will be responsible for contributing to the writing of high quality, academic papers to be submitted to international journals and contributing to grant writing for the group. The majority of this work should be done independently and in collaboration with both internal and external members of the team. The position also entails some laboratory mentoring of doctoral, masters, bachelor and medical students.
Qualification
Necessary Qualifications:
In addition to the above qualifications, the desired qualifications are as follows:
Background in biology, immunology or medicine
Experience with standard cell and molecular biology techniques (e.g. cell culture, western blot, etc.)
Experience with in vivo animal models
The research project is interdisciplinary, therefore candidates with a broad competence profile spanning theses different areas are of special interest. Experience with industry is a plus as the project involves working with different industry partners.
Additional information
The employment is a fixed-term employment for 6 months at 100 % with a start date of 15 November 2023 or as agreed.
