The Department of Human Geography at Lund University is currently seeking a researcher to work on the topic/methodology of "Risk Terrain Modeling." This area of study is an integral part of an emerging research field at the department that combines approaches and research from human geography and criminology, incorporating quantitative methods and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). We are looking for a researcher who can apply and contribute to the development of research supported by "Risk Terrain Modeling" and location-based crime analysis.

Responsibilities include reviewing relevant scientific literature, conducting crime analyses with the support of risk terrain modeling, academic writing, as well as participating in seminars, workshops, academic, and professionally related conferences. The candidate will be affiliated with a specific research project and research group focused on crime analysis from a spatial perspective.

We are looking for a candidate who have demonstrated research experience (Ph.D. or close to completion) who is interested in location-based crime analysis and has previous experience with quantitative research methods and GIS. The candidate should have a genuine interest in research, the ability to work independently and systematically, and take initiatives that contribute to the research group. It is also considered a merit if the candidate has knowledge and experience in research on crime and fear of crime from a geographical perspective.

Duration: 12 months, 25%
Start: January 1, 2024
