Description of the workplace
The research group for Clinical Memory Research conducts research in dementia. Research has been at the forefront in this area for many years, including world-leading research in Alzheimer’s disease. More information can be found here. The research group is led by Professor Oskar Hansson. This position will be placed at BMC in Lund.

Work duties
The project assistant will work with Alzheimer’s mice. Tasks will include handling the mice, performing behavioral tests, drug injections as well as collection of serum, cerebrospinal fluid and brain. Other assignments within the research group may also occur.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required:

  • Master of Science within biomedical science, medicine or a related field
  • Experience working with mice
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication in English
  • As a person you need to be patient, detail-oriented and precise.
  • We require good collaborative skills but also the ability to work independently.

The following are considered a merit:

  • Previous experience with behavioral tests on mice
  • Previous experience with intraperitoneal injections and collection of cerebrospinal fluid/blood from mice

Terms of employment
The employment is a special fixed-term employment (SÄVA) for four months, with scope 100%. Desired start date is 2024-01-01, or as agreed.
