The Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences is looking for one SI-leader during the Spring Term 2024. As an SI-leader you are employed by the department as a Teaching Assistant, and you will receive your SI-leadership training from the European Centre for SI-PASS. The SI-PASS is a very successful educational model developed in the United States and has spread to many universities across the world. The European Centre for SI-PASS at Lund University has the responsibility for information, evaluation, and training of university staff in the SI-PASS model in Europe.
You will work in close collaboration with the teachers and the SI-supervisor at the department. Experiences will be shared over disciplinary boundaries among the SI-leaders as they participate at the SI-meetings at the department-level, but you will also have opportunities to participate at university-wide tutorials together with SI-leaders from different departments and faculties.

The Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences are looking for 1 SI-leader during the period of 2024-01-15 – 2024-06-20, and at the courses of the following programme:
HATKA: The Master Programme in Applied Cultural Analysis (Term 2)
As an SI-leader you will regularly arrange meetings (at average once a week) where you lead student groups on your subject according to the usual SI-methodology. The purpose of the SI-sessions is for the student groups to discuss the concepts and questions of the subject and together come up with answers and solutions. Students learn to see each other as learning resources and are trained in collaborative learning.
The task of the SI-leader is to lead the students and structure the SI sessions so that these run efficiently. The SI-leader should not teach or present any new material, as the group should together process the contents of the course, already presented by the teacher. The SI-leader acts as a support and a sounding board in this process.
Working hours are teaching hours, Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00.
The duties of this position include:
Eligible to the employment as a Teaching Assistant is anyone who is actively pursuing studies at the undergraduate or the advanced level of the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology at Lund University, and who has not yet obtained their degree.
Requirements for being an SI-leader is also the completion of the SI leadership-training, which is offered at the beginning of each semester. You can apply for this position without having completed the leadership-training.
Considerations will be given to how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the ongoing work within the SI organization, and how they stand to contribute to its future development. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
This is a fixed-term employment that is limited to the period 2024-01-15 – 2024-06-20 and is 10 % of a full time equivalent. The employment must not unfavorably affect the studies of the teaching assistant and may not be combined with other employment. Regulations regarding educational employment such as those of Teaching Assistants can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance HF, Chapter 5, Sections 8-12.
