Division for Breast Cancer Treatment
The research at the Breast Cancer Treatment Research Group is multidisciplinary with four senior researchers, one biomedical analyst, and several affiliated clinical researchers and part-time PhD students and master's students. The group has close collaboration with Region Skåne, and the research projects aim at supporting introduction of de-escalation of therapy for breast cancer patients. The activities are situated in a multidisciplinary environment at Medicon Village in Lund in a multidisciplinary environment with several research groups in cancer research with joint seminars and other activities.

The employment as postdoctor is a career development position and we are now recruiting a highly motivated scientist with ability to independently understand and develop the group's project activities. The full-time employment as postdoctor is a temporary employment for 24 months with suggested starting date April 1st, 2024 or upon agreement.

Work assignments
The work assignments include all steps within specified externally funded projects on prediction modelling. The tasks will be carried out under supervision and independently. The prediction projects include prediction of lymph node status, endocrine resistance, and survival. Clinical data from quality registers and study databases with the addition of biological information from scanned microscopic slides, multiplex staining, and gene expression are available for the purpose.
It will also be possible to participate in teaching in biostatistics and supervision of master's students.
Assessment criteria and other qualifications
This is a career development position primarily focused on research. The position is intended as an initial step in a career, and the assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers.
Particular emphasis will be placed on research skills within the subject.

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive, and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
Other additional qualifications
Appointment to a post-doctoral position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a Swedish PhD, within the subject of the position, completed no more than three years before the last date for applications. Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier.

Terms of employment
This is a full-time, fixed-term employment of 2 years with a possibility of extension up to one year. The period of employment is determined in accordance with the agreement “Avtal om tidsbegränsad anställning som postdoktor” (“Agreement on fixed-term employment as a post-doctoral fellow”) between the Swedish Agency for Government Employers, SACO-S, OFR/S and SEKO, dated 2021-11-19.

The Department of Clinical Sciences Lund is one of six departments at the Faculty of Medicine, Lund University.
