Division of Tumor Microenvironment
The research group conducts translational studies in the field of brain tumors. A central part of this work requires coworkers with special expertise in advanced proteomics and tumor biology. The activities are conducted by doctors, doctoral students, nurses, postdoctoral researchers, research engineers and assistant researchers in the Kamprad Building, SUS Lund, in an environment with several research groups in cancer research.

The employment as postdoctor is a career development position and we are now recruiting a highly motivated scientist with the ability to independently enter and develop the group's project activities. The full-time employment as postdoctor is a temporary employment for 24 months with suggested starting date March 1st, 2024, or upon agreement.

Work assignments
The work duties involve leading the work of studying central mechanisms for how cancer cells adapt to stressors in the tumor microenvironment with the aim of identifying new targets for the treatment of aggressive brain tumors.

Assessment criteria and other qualifications
This is a career development position primarily focused on research. The position is intended as an initial step in a science career. The assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and future potential as researchers.

Particular emphasis will be placed on research skills within the subject.

For appointments to a post-doctoral position, the following shall form the assessment criteria:

• A strong ability to develop and conduct high quality research.
• Teaching skills.

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Additional qualifications
Appointment to a post-doctoral position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of the position, completed no more than three years before the last date for applications. Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier.

Qualifications required:

• A PhD degree or equivalent foreign education in medicine, biomedicine or molecular biology is a requirement.
• Well-documented expertise in translational cancer research with a focus on advanced proteomics, as well as isolation and analysis of extracellular vesicles.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable skills:

• PhD with a focus on brain tumors and extracellular vesicles.
• Experience in advanced proteomics, analysis of extracellular vesicles isolated from plasma.

Terms of employment
This is a full-time, fixed-term employment of 2 years. The period of employment is determined in accordance with the agreement “Avtal om tidsbegränsad anställning som postdoktor” (“Agreement on fixed-term employment as a post-doctoral fellow”) between Swedish Agency for Government Employers, SACO-S, OFR/S and SEKO, dated 2021-11-19.
