Description of the workplace
The research group, which focus is HIV-1 and HIV-2 host interactions, is led by Professor Marianne Jansson. The group belongs to the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine. The research on HIV is based on a wide range of different questions within projects concerning virus-host interactions, where molecular and cellular virology is included. Work duties and areas of responsibility
The tasks involve assisting the research group by running research projects with a focus on HIV research. This means designing and carrying out experimental research, analyzing and compiling obtained results, and reporting research results in the form of scientific publications and presentations at scientific conferences. Further tasks include drafting applications for obtaining grants for current research projects. The applicant will also theoretically and practically supervise new coworkers and students including Swedish and international coworkers and students. This means introduction and supervision of experimental HIV research in a biosafety laboratory level 3 (BSL-3). This includes being responsible, together with the research group leader, for risk assessments and handling instructions linked to the current experimental activity.

The employment is a time-limited, part-time position (80%) for 12 months.
