Description of the workplace
At the research group for experimental pathology, research is carried out in the field of cancer; and especially new ways to counteract the spread of cancer and the formation of metastases. The research has been at the forefront of this field for several years and the results of this work have led to several clinical trials of a new drug candidate that is supposed to stop metastasis formation. The group is led by Professor Tommy Andersson and consists of research and technical staff. You can read more about the research here. The research group is located at CRC in Malmö.

We care about creating a positive, respectful, and stimulating environment. We value communication and collaboration and a workplace that promotes learning and development for all employees. We are also committed to building a safe and positive environment for all employees through mutual respect and tolerance.

We offer
Lund University is a governmental authority, which means you get special benefits, generous holidays and a favorable occupational pension. We also have a flexible time agreement that creates good conditions for a balance between work and leisure.

Work duties
You will become an important collaborator in an already started and ongoing scientific project within cancer, where we have identified an interesting receptor that the drug candidate Foxy-5 binds to, which can explain several of its observed anticancer effects. The goal is to finish this project with the submission of a publication in 2024. This means that you, as an employee, will be included as a co-author.

You will work in a project that is conducted in collaboration with an Indian research group, the work will therefore include frequent digital meetings and coordination with the researchers in this group. Trips between the groups are not planned but cannot be ruled out. You will mainly work normal working hours but some experimental circumstances may require working at odd hours. Due to the time difference between Sweden and India, some digital meetings may also need to take place outside normal working hours (in which case participation can of course take place from home).
