We are looking for a project assistant who can support the development of some of the Psychological Defence Research Institute´s projects.

Description of the workplace

The Psychological Defence Research Institute was established in 2022 at Lund University’s Department of Strategic Communication, initiated with the support of the Swedish Psychological Defence Agency. The purpose of psychological defence is to safeguard open and democratic society, the free formation of opinion, Sweden’s fundamental freedoms, and ultimately our independence. PDRI supports the Psychological Defence Agency in conducting research that helps to develop society’s capabilities to identify and counteract the effects of undue information influence and other false or misleading information targeting Sweden for the purpose of influencing decision-making, perceptions, or behaviour.

Duties and responsibilities

Your main tasks will be:

  • Prepare literature reviews and other texts to support publications such as research reports and academic articles.
  • Use both scientific and open-source intelligence methods to collect data and analyze empirical material from sources such as government practitioners, media, social media, research reports, and government reports.
  • Work with Russian and other former Soviet language sources.
  • Prepare texts for publication.

The main language will be English.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position are:

  • Master's degree in strategic communication or a related subject (e.g. political science or security studies).

Additional qualifications for the position are:

  • Familiar with working with governments, for example through work experience in the civil sector or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with the subject of psychological defense and have relevant work experience in a related field.
  • Flexible, prepared to assist with various tasks, and able to produce high-standard work with minimal supervision.
  • Documented experience of similar tasks.
  • Ability to fit into a small team working towards tight deadlines. Proficient in spoken and written English and Russian.

Other

The employment is 70 % of full-time and is limited until 2024-06-19. Starting date as soon as possible by agreement.
