Description of the workplace
The Cardiovascular Research – Immune Regulation unit (Department of Clinical Sciences, Malmö, Lund University) is located at the Clinical Research Centre in Malmö and studies the role of lymphocytes in cardiovascular disease. Work duties and responsibilities
We are looking to recruit at research engineer for studies of cardiovascular immunology related to ongoing work into the role of checkpoint inhibitors in atherosclerosis. The applicant will conduct in vivo and in vitro experimental work, analyze flow cytometric data and draft scientific manuscripts. The applicant will also be responsible for record keeping, reporting of results as well as correspondence with collaborators.

The following is required for the position:

  • PhD in the area of cardiovascular immunology. 
  • Extensive experience with immunological analysis of vascular tissue.
  • Extensive experience with experimental models of atherosclerosis.
  • Experience in scientific writing in the field of cardiovascular immunology.
  • Proficiency in oral and written English.

The following is meritorious for the position:

  • Extensive experience in isolation of blood vessels from atherosclerotic mice and subsequent isolation and analysis of leukocytes.
  • Extensive experience with immunological methodology (e.g. flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry and gene expression analysis.

Consideration will also be given to how the applicant, through his or her experience and competence, is judged to supplement and strengthen ongoing research within the research groups and contribute to their future development.

Terms of employment
The employment is a fixed-term full-time employment for a total of three months. Start date is 2024-04-01 or as agreed.
