Work duties

We are looking for field assistants to: 1) monitor the breeding attempts in nest boxes; 2) ring adult and chick birds; 3) measure biometrics of birds and 4) daily upload of data in databases. The assistant is expected to work mainly in a team.

The work is part of the new Division D at Lund University, so ideally the candidate lives in or near Lund. The work is expected to take ca. 2 months.

Qualifications

Applicants must be able to demonstrate evidence of:

  • Some experience with fieldwork and handling of birds, preferably with nest box breeding birds
  • Good team working skills, but also the ability to work independently.
  • Good written and oral proficiency in English A driver’s licence.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will also be given to i.e. database experience and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the administrative work within the division/department, as well as contribute to its future development.

 

Terms of employment

Fixed-term employment for 2 months full-time, starting date is 15th of April.
