Description of the workplace
The position as a postdoc is placed at the Research Group for Breast and Lung Cancer, led by Associate Professor Johan Staaf. The group currently consists of four assistant researchers and three doctoral students with strong competence in genomic research focused on breast and lung cancer. The research group is located at the Division of Translational Cancer Research at the Department of Laboratory Medicine. Work duties
The postdoc will be responsible for conducting and supervising research projects based on genomic profiling of breast and lung cancer tumors. This will include usage of different high-throughput -omics techniques targeting DNA, RNA, epigenetic, proteomic, and metabolic alterations in cancer. The postdoc is expected to independently perform analyses in research projects using both own and public data resources and to summarize findings to scientific studies. Documented bioinformatic skills, the ability to work in teams, and a strong personal interest in developing within the field with respect to methods and analysis tasks are important. Supervision of both PhD students and undergraduate students, as well as teaching related to the field may be part of the work duties.
Qualifications
To qualify for the position, the applicant must have a PhD or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within a subject relevant for the position (i.e. life sciences, preferably with a focus on the topic of the project), completed no more than three years before the date of employment decision. Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier.

The employment is a full time position limited to 2 years. The employment is time-limited according to the agreement, "Agreement on limited-time employment as postdoctoral researcher-2022-02-01". Start date is 2024-07-01 or according to agreement.
