The Division of Combustion Physics is well-established and internationally recognized for excellence in the measurement and development of combustion applications related to ground and aerospace combustion engines and energy production. The Department of Physics conducts a wide array of research, together with other departments within the Faculty of Engineering. In this research work the operating conditions will focus on spray drying applications that will be defined by Tetra Pak.
The measurements of droplet size (using the LIF/Mie technique) and temperature (using two-color LIF thermometry) will be based on a combination with the use of Structured Laser Illumination Planar Imaging (SLIPI). The measurement of liquid dynamics will be related to a combination of high-speed imaging based of back-scattering and back-LIF detection.
Both macroscopic imaging (viewed areas in the order of ~12 cm for quantitative measurements) and microscopic imaging (viewed areas in the order of ~5 mm for dynamics imaging) will be used during this project.

The position is a fixed term position for one year at 100 per cent of full time and starting 2024-05-01 until 2025-04-30.
