Description of the workplace
The research group Molecular Metabolism conducts research aimed at understanding why the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas do not function properly in type 2 diabetes. The research has been at the forefront of the field for several years. A major focus has been on molecular processes that regulate metabolic and genetic changes in the beta cell during the disease. The group is headed by Professor Hindrik Mulder and Associate Professor Malin Fex and contains several postdocs as well as technical staff. The group is located at CRC in Malmö.

Duties and responsibilities
Carry out advanced scientific studies in the laboratory. Cultivating primary cells, clonal cells and stem cells. Supervision of, for example, students in the field of islet-research. Write applications for research grants and produce scientific articles.
