Description of the workplace 

The division for Pure and Applied Biochemistry has research and training in the areas of molecular imprinting, bioseparation technology, protein technology, bio and biomimetic sensors, plant breeding/analysis, biomaterials and biomedical nutrition.

Work duties 

The position is about developing sustainable plasticizers for bio-based materials. You are expected to understand experimental design, assist in planning and conducting experiments on different formulations of plasticizers. You are expected to write regular update reports and presentations to project partners.

 

Qualifications  

Required qualifications for the position are:

  • You should have knowledge and experience relevant to biotechnology, such as university-level courses in biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology, bioinformatics, or similar fields.
  • You should have knowledge and practical experience in the artificial leather manufacturing process.
  • You should have experience working on projects involving laboratory work and be able to work in a structured and independent manner towards established goals.
  • You should be responsible and have an awareness of safety in laboratory work.
  • You should have good oral and written proficiency in English.

 

Additional qualifications for the position are:

  • It is advantageous if you have a Master's degree in biotechnology, molecular biology, or a similar field, or equivalent relevant studies.
  • It is advantageous if you have practical experience in molecular biology laboratory work, such as yeast cultivation.
  • It is advantageous if you have practical experience in biobased material processing.

Consideration will also be given to how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development. 

 

Further information 

The position is for a fixed time of 3 months at 50% of full time with a starting date at the earliest end of June or upon agreement.
