Description of the workplace 

 

AI, digital transformation, IT and mobile communication are areas where Lund University conducts internationally leading and extensive research. At the technical faculty LTH, we have the profile area AI and digitalization (https://www.lth.se/english/research/profile-areas/ai-and-digitalization/), together with Linköping University we run the national strategic research area ELLIIT (www.elliit.se ) and we are an active node of Sweden's largest research program WASP (https://wasp-sweden.org/). In addition to high-quality research, we also conduct excellent training of the next generation of researchers to provide Swedish industry with the right expertise so that Sweden can continue to be a leading force in the field.

In Lund, we have about 200 researchers, of which 90 are seniors and 110 are doctoral students. It is an international environment, and we participate in many national and European projects.

We are now looking for a project coordinator who will be responsible for, and develop our, communication flow and visibility. As our project coordinator, you will maintain and develop communication strategies together with the profile area's management team, which you will be an part of. The role entails overall responsibility for both internal and external communication for the profile area and to contribute to the joint visibility of ELLIIT.

Work duties 

 

As a project coordinator, your main task will be to interact with the profile area's and ELLIIT's management team, researchers, administrators, and communicators at faculty and university level as well as in other strategic research areas. You will be responsible for project follow-up and communication for WASP at Lund University, as well as communication with requests from key stakeholders and the public, such as the media and the Wallenberg Foundations.

Together with the management of the profile area and ELLIIT, provide scientific input in terms of strengthening engagement and knowledge exchange with key stakeholders, as well as marketing.

 

 Other tasks included in the role:

  • Create engaging and creative texts about ongoing research to make our research and the research environment visible. This includes interviewing researchers, writing articles, and press releases.
  • Highlight, and participate in the creation of, activities organized by the profile area and ELLIIT, such as seminars, workshops, symposia, and popular science initiatives.
  • Responsible for updating and developing the website and social networks, especially YouTube and LinkedIn.

 

Qualifications  

We are looking for someone with administrative skills that has an excellent ability to prioritize in the work among many parallel ongoing projects and work towards deadlines. We foresee that you have a service-oriented way of working and want to build strong working relationships.

 

Required qualifications for the position are:

The position requires:

  • Engineering degree or Bachelor's degree in natural sciences, or similar competence.
  • Be a skilled communicator both verbally and in writing, preferably with experience in science communication
  • Experience of various social media platforms and strategic development of visibility in social media
  • Experience in creating and updating websites (e.g. Drupal)
  • Fluent English both in speech and writing

 

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. The work is very team-based and therefore requires very good communication and collaboration skills.
