Description of the workplace
The Research Group for Targeted Therapies in Leukemia is placed at the Division of Clinical Genetics at the Department of Laboratory Medicine and is lead by Associate Professor Marcus Järås. Our research mainly focuses on genetic damage to bone marrow blood stem cells that can cause acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a type of blood cancer associated with low survival. Our research aims to develop new targeted treatments that attack the leukemia stem cells in AML. Read more about our research here.

Work duties and responsibilities
You will mainly study the CD71 gene as well as in vitro models of leukemia, lentiviral vectors, molecular biological analyses and cell cultures.
