Description of the workplace
The postdoctoral researcher will be placed within the Quantitative Immunobiology research group. The research group conducts high-tech medical research focused on immunology, infection, and cancer and consists of a mix of doctoral students, postdocs, and technical and administrative staff.

Tasks and areas of responsibility
At Lund University, a postdoctoral position should provide the opportunity for scientific and educational merit. Primarily, there is room for merit in research, but also for some higher education pedagogical training. Teaching may also be included in the duties.

As a postdoctoral fellow in this research group, your main tasks will be working with antibodies and serology related to viruses. The work also involves functional testing of antibodies, serum, and compiling results in the form of scientific articles.

Other tasks may also be included.

Eligibility
Eligibility for employment as a postdoctoral researcher is limited to those who have a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest by the time the appointment decision is made, and proof that the eligibility requirement has been fulfilled must have been received by that time. Preference will be given to those who have completed their degree no more than three (3) years ago. If there are special reasons, the doctoral degree may have been obtained earlier. Special reasons refer to leave of absence due to illness, parental leave, clinical service, positions of trust in trade union organisations or other similar circumstances.

Assessment criteria
At Lund University, a postdoctoral position shall provide the opportunity for scientific and educational merit. In the first instance, there is scope for merit in research, but also for some higher education pedagogical training. Teaching may also be included in the duties.In the case of employment as a postdoctoral researcher, scientific ability in the subject area will be taken into account.

Other qualifications

The position requires:

- PhD in biomedicine or equivalent

- Extensive experience in virology

- Extensive experience in cell biology and microbiology

Meritorious for the position are:

- Good experience in flow cytometry

- Good experience in microscopy


Terms and conditions
The position is a fixed-term position of two years, 100% with start date 2024-10-01, or as agreed. Employment at Lund University is conducted in Sweden, you are therefore expected to be able to perform your work on site in Lund.

The employment is limited to a minimum of two years, maximum three years according to the collective agreement on fixed-term employment as a postdoctoral fellow (Arbetsgivarverket). An employment as a postdoctoral fellow is intended as an initial step in the career and as an opportunity to further deepen and broaden research expertise.
