Work duties
The staff member will be expected to improve how coupling between vegetation and the atmosphere (especially albedo and roughness lengths) is treated in the EC-Earth climate model. Exact details of work plans will be agreed in discussion with the supervisors. The work is part of the OptimESM project, which focuses on improving climate models.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor degree in physics, biogeoscience or climate science.
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • At least 4 months experience working with climate model output
  • Experience working with albedo estimates in climate models
  • Skills in computer programming, e.g. Python, Matlab or C++

Terms of employment
Fixed-term employment at 50% of full time for a period of 2 months with preferred starting daet mid July.
