Work duties
The staff member will be expected to design and run simulations of European forests under different disturbance/management scenarios using the RCA-GUESS regional climate model. They will analyse these simulations and lead the writing of a peer-reviewed paper based on the results. Exact details of work plans will be agreed in discussion with the supervisors. Carrying out related administration and communication activities is also expected. The work is part of the CLIMB-Forest and ForestPaths projects, which focus on exploring the implications of different forest management regimes on European forest ecosystems, forest sector and climate.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor and Master's degrees in quantiative science and especially biogeophysical science.
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • At least 6 months experience working with the RCA-GUESS regional climate model
  • Documented skills in computer programming

Terms of employment

Fixed-term employment §5 p1 SÄVA at 80% of 4 months.
