Work duties

The staff member will be expected to integrate and test various development branches of the ecosystem model LPJ-GUESS, with a particular focus on developments relating to the daily allocation of carbon and nitrogen in the model. Exact details of work plans will be agreed in discussion with the supervisors. The staff member will be expected to communicate and collaborate with staff in Lund and at KIT in Garmisch, Germany. The task is central to the development of the LPJ-GUESS infrastructure.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor and Master's degrees in quantiative science and especially biogeophysical science.

  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • At least 4 months of experience working actively with the LPJ-GUESS model, including development, testing, debugging, performing site and regional simulations, and performing sensitivity experiments.
  • Skills in computer programming with C++ and Matlab or Python.

Terms of employment

Fixed-term employment at 100% of full time for a period of 6 months. Preferred starting date, 1st September 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
